Predicting
Predicting is when we anticipate what the story or text might be about.
We can predict: * What a story/text is about.
* What a character might do next.
* What sort of vocabulary might be in a text.
* What sort of characters might we see or read about.
* What might the setting be.
* What problem might we come across in the text.
* What could be the solution to the problem.
When we predict the outcome of a story, we identify clues leading to an outcome and we draw conclusions based on clues in the text.
Use the above chart to demonstrate how following the clues can lead to making predictions about a text.
